Electronics Recycling
Certified E-Waste Disposal

Electronics recycling (e-waste recycling) recovers valuable materials — gold, silver, copper, palladium, and rare earth elements — from end-of-life electronic devices while ensuring data security and compliance with EPA regulations. E-waste is the fastest-growing waste stream globally, with only 25% properly recycled in the US.

The World's Fastest-Growing Waste Stream, Handled Right

Electronic waste contains a paradox: it's simultaneously one of the most valuable and most hazardous materials in the waste stream. A single ton of circuit boards contains more gold than a ton of gold ore. But those same circuit boards also contain lead, mercury, cadmium, and brominated flame retardants that contaminate soil and groundwater when landfilled.

For businesses, the risk goes beyond environmental damage. Hard drives, SSDs, and mobile devices contain sensitive data that doesn't disappear when you throw the device away. A single improperly disposed hard drive can trigger a data breach costing millions. Proper e-waste recycling includes certified data destruction before any material recovery begins.

62M tonnesof e-waste generated globally in 2022 — only 22% was properly collected and recycled (WHO/UN)
$62B in valueworth of recoverable raw materials in global e-waste each year, mostly lost to landfill
70% of toxic wastein US landfills comes from electronic equipment (EPA estimate)
$4.88M averagecost of a data breach in 2024 — improperly disposed devices are a top risk vector (IBM)

From Your Dock to Certified Recycling

1

Inventory

We catalog equipment by type and quantity. For ITAD, every device is tracked by serial number.

2

Data Destruction

All data-bearing devices wiped or shredded per NIST 800-88. Certificate of Destruction per drive.

3

Pickup

Secure, GPS-tracked transport from your facility to our processing center. Full chain-of-custody.

4

Disassembly

Equipment dismantled into material streams: circuit boards, metals, plastics, glass, and hazardous components.

5

Certificate

Certificate of Recycling with weight, material breakdown, and diversion rate. Asset disposition report for ITAD.

We accept virtually all electronic equipment: computers, laptops, monitors (including CRTs), cell phones, tablets, printers, servers, networking equipment, UPS systems, cables, peripherals, POS terminals, and AV equipment. If it has a circuit board or a plug, we can probably recycle it.

Yes. All data-bearing devices (hard drives, SSDs, phones, tablets, tape media) undergo NIST 800-88 compliant data destruction before any material recovery. You receive a Certificate of Destruction documenting the method, date, and serial number of each device.

R2 (Responsible Recycling) and e-Stewards are the gold standard. They certify that downstream processors follow documented procedures for data security, environmental management, and material handling. Our network holds both certifications plus ISO 14001.

Yes. CRTs contain 4-8 pounds of lead each and require specialized handling. We process them through licensed facilities that recover the lead and glass. CRTs typically carry a per-unit processing fee due to the hazardous material content.

Standard IT equipment (computers, laptops, servers, phones) is typically free to recycle. Items with negative commodity value (CRT monitors, some printers, non-working UPS batteries) may have a per-unit fee. We provide a detailed quote upfront.

Circuit boards go to precious metal refiners (gold, silver, palladium recovery). Copper is extracted from wiring. Aluminum and steel housings go to metal recyclers. Plastics are sorted by resin type for reprocessing. Nothing is exported to developing countries.

Yes. Our ITAD service tracks every device by serial number from your facility through data destruction and final disposition. The asset disposition report provides a complete audit trail for your IT asset management and compliance records.

Most pickups are scheduled within 3-5 business days. Expedited and same-week service available in major metros for office moves, lease expirations, and urgent decommissions.
