Electronics Recycling
Certified E-Waste Disposal & Data Destruction

Electronics recycling (e-waste recycling) is the process of recovering valuable materials from end-of-life electronic devices while ensuring data security and regulatory compliance. Recycling Quotes provides R2 and e-Stewards certified electronics recycling with NIST 800-88 compliant data destruction for businesses nationwide.

Responsible E-Waste Disposal, Zero Hassle

Electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream in the world, with 62 million tonnes generated globally in 2022 (WHO). In the U.S., only about 25% of e-waste is properly recycled — the rest ends up in landfills where toxic materials like lead, mercury, and cadmium leach into soil and groundwater.

For businesses, the risks go beyond environmental damage. Improperly disposed electronics containing customer data, employee records, or proprietary information create serious liability. A single data breach traced to a discarded hard drive can cost millions in fines, lawsuits, and lost trust.

Recycling Quotes connects your business with R2 and e-Stewards certified processors who handle the entire lifecycle — from secure onsite data destruction to material recovery. Every device gets a Certificate of Destruction (NIST 800-88 compliant) and a Certificate of Recycling. Your liability ends when we pick up.

From Old Equipment to Certified Recycling

1

Inventory & Quote

Send us a list or photos of your equipment. We quote by device type and volume. Asset tags? We'll track every serial number.

2

Secure Data Destruction

Onsite or at our facility — we wipe or physically shred all data-bearing devices per NIST 800-88. Certificate of Destruction for every drive.

3

Pickup & Transport

Our team packs, labels, and transports your equipment in locked, GPS-tracked vehicles. Full chain-of-custody from your dock to our facility.

4

Sort & Process

Equipment is dismantled and sorted by material stream — precious metals, circuit boards, plastics, glass, and steel are each routed to certified processors.

5

Documentation

You receive a complete package: Certificate of Destruction, Certificate of Recycling, asset disposition report, and weight summary.

We follow NIST 800-88 guidelines for media sanitization. Depending on the device and your security requirements, we use software-based wiping (3-pass or 7-pass), degaussing, or physical shredding. Every data-bearing device receives a Certificate of Destruction documenting the method used and the serial number of the device.

R2 (Responsible Recycling) and e-Stewards are the two gold standards. R2 covers environmental management, data security, and downstream accountability. e-Stewards adds stricter rules on hazardous material export. Our processing partners hold both, plus ISO 14001 for environmental management.

Yes. CRT monitors contain lead and require special handling. We process them through licensed facilities that recover the lead and glass rather than landfilling them. CRTs may carry a per-unit processing fee due to the hazardous material handling requirements.

Yes. For organizations with high-security requirements (financial, healthcare, government), we bring mobile shredding equipment to your facility and destroy drives while you watch. You receive a Certificate of Destruction before we leave your premises.

Devices are dismantled into material streams: precious metals (gold, silver, palladium from circuit boards), copper from wiring, aluminum and steel from housings, and plastics. These raw materials re-enter manufacturing supply chains. Nothing is exported to developing countries — a core requirement of both R2 and e-Stewards certification.

It depends on the equipment mix. Standard IT equipment (computers, laptops, servers) is typically free to recycle. Items with negative commodity value (CRT monitors, some printers) may carry a per-unit fee. We provide a detailed quote upfront with no hidden charges.

Yes. We record the serial number, make, and model of every device processed and include this in your asset disposition report. For organizations with strict IT asset management policies, this provides a complete audit trail from decommission to destruction.

Most pickups are scheduled within 3-5 business days of quote approval. For urgent needs (office moves, lease expirations), we offer expedited service in major metros — often next-day. Contact us with your timeline and we'll work to meet it.
